These letters at the end of the Alert ID were added to the CAMS alerts to assistissuers with identifying risk. Below is a list of the codes Visa uses and their definitions:
IC - Internet Compromise = Accounts compromised due to hacking or being posted on the internet. (Example: A hacker gaining access to a merchant’s database.)
LE- Law Enforcement = Accounts sent to Visa Fraud Control by law enforcement as a result of a search warrant, arrest of a suspect. (Example: Police serve a search warrant on a computer owned by a hacker or identity theft suspect.)
PA- Proactive Alert = Accounts being forwarded to an issuer by Visa due to the suspicion that these accounts may have been compromised based on preliminary information.
RE- Recovered Accounts = Accounts being posted on the Internet or other random recovered accounts not classified anywhere else.
RA- Review and Analysis = Accounts being forwarded to an issuer by Visa or another entity that called for additional review.
