EMV Chip Limits

The EMV Chip Limits feature allows the administrator to set up limits for offline transactions at a SPA level.

To access the EMV Chip Limits screen, hover over the Administration menu and select FIRSTDATA.

 

 

Hover over Administration and select EMV Chip Limits.

 

 

Field Definitions:

Lower Limit Count (LCOL): The number of offline transactions a cardholder can perform. If a transaction is attempted above this number, the system will attempt to route it online.

Upper Limit Count (UCOL): The total number of offline transactions that can occur before the card is declined.

Note: The limits established by the LCOL and UCOL are put in place for international transactions.

 

Lower Limit Amount (LCOTA): The dollar amount of offline transactions that can occur before the system attempts to route the transaction online.

Upper Limit Amouont (UCOTA): The total dollar amount of offline transactions that can occur before the cardholder gets declined.

Note: The limits established by the LCOTA and UCOTA are put in place for domestic transactions.

 

To add offline limits to a SPA:

  1. Click on "Setup New EMV SPA Limit."
     


 

  1. Fill in the Sys, Prin and Agent fields.
  2. Fill in the LCOL, UCOL, LCOTA and UCOTA fields.
  3. Click Create.

 

 

To edit offline limits on an SPA:

  1. Click Options.
  2. Click Edit Configuration.
     


 

  1. Edit fields.
  2. Click Update.
     


 

To delete offline limits on an SPA:

  1. Click Options.
  2. Click Delete Configuration.
     


 

  1. Click Delete.
