Springboard Maintenance

Chip Detail

Hover over the Maintenance menu. Under Chip Cards select the Chip Detail link.

Note: Actions on this page apply at the PI ID level. Select the appropriate PI ID from the Account Info screen then proceed to the Chip Detail screen.

 

 

Chip Detail Field Descriptions: 

Select Cardholder: Drop down box designating the roles and cardholder names on the account.

PI Replacement Sequence: Number identifying each chip card that is issued. The larger the number, the more recent the issuance of the card.

ATC Reset: Code determining whether the Application Transaction Counter (ATC) will be reset on their ATC Master File with the next authorization of the card (NA).

 

Valid Codes
R Reset the Application Transaction Counter
Blank The Application Transaction Counter is Not Reset

 

Card Profile Identifier: First Data profile identifier currently assigned to the chip card (NA).

Next Card Profile Identifier: Profile identifier that can be assigned to the chip card after it has been reissued (NA).

Current ATC: Application Transaction Counter value, the system counts each time a card is used as a chip card and the count is sent with the most recent online transaction.

Previous ATC: Application Transaction Counter, the ATC count that was sent with the previous online transaction.

 

Note: If there is a discrepancy between the Current ATC and the Previous ATC, offline transactions have occurred on the card.

 

PIN Try Limit Count: Number of offline PIN attempts that can be used before an authorization is declined.

PIN Change Control: Indicates if PIN changes are allowed on the chip card.

Chip Type Code: Code representing the authorization method encoded on the chip card.

 

Valid Codes
Signature based authorizations prefered
PIN based authorizations prefered

 

Script Pending Indicator: Code stating if there are any scripts waiting to be sent to the chip.

 

Valid Codes
N No, there are no scripts pending
Y Yes, there are scripts pending

 

Application ID: Code that identifies the profile selected by the financial institution for the Chip Card program.

Sub App Name: Secondary application id name (NA).

 

Scripts Field Descriptions:

PIN Unlock: Allows a PIN unlock script to be sent to the chip (Offline PIN only).

Application Block: Drop down box contains an indicator designating whether the chip card application on the chip card has been blocked.

 

Valid Codes
N No, the Chip Card Application has not been blocked
Y Yes, the Chip Card application has been blocked

 

Block Chip: Drop down box contains an indicator designating whether the usage of the chip card has been blocked.

 

Valid Codes
N No, the chip card has not been blocked
Y Yes, the chip card has been blocked

 

Lower Count (LCOL): The number of offline transactions a cardholder can perform. If a transaction is attempted above this number, the system will attempt to route it online.

Upper Count (UCOL): The total number of offline transactions that can occur before the cardholder is declined.

 

Note: The limits established by the LCOL and UCOL are put in place for international transactions.

 

Lower Amount (LCOTA): The dollar amount of offline transactions that can occur before the system attempts to route the transaction online.

Upper Amount (UCOTA): The total amount of offline transactions that can occur before the cardholder gets declined.

 

Note: The limits established by the LCOTA and UCOTA are put in place for domestic transactions.

 

There are updatable security features associated with each of the offline transaction limits. These codes designate if the limits will stay in place at reissue or revert back to the default program settings.

 

Valid Codes
F Update this amount even if it has a locked status and leave it in locked status
L Current amount is locked for the customer
T Update this amount even if it has a locked status and leave it in an unlocked status
U Current amount can be changed

 

Note: CO-OP recommends that these settings are not locked.

 

Chip Detail History Field Descriptions:

Card Replacement Sequence Number: A System-generated identifier used to uniquely represent the presentation instrument within the account. Card Replacement Sequence Number is used to identify each physical card issued.

Customer Role: The role of a customer associated with this presentation instrument identifier.

PIN Unlock

To send a PIN unlock script (Offline PIN Only):

  1. Select the cardholder you would like to update from the drop-down menu.
  2. Check the box next to the PIN Unlock field.
  3. Click Update.

 

Note: The next online transaction performed on the chip card will send the PIN Unlock script to the chip card.

 

Block Card Application

To block the chip card application:

  1. Select the cardholder you would like to update from the drop-down menu.
  2. Select Y from the drop-down box in the Application Block field.
  3. Click Update.

 

Note: The next online transaction performed on the chip card will send the Application Block script to the chip card.

 

Block Chip

To block the chip card:

  1. Select the cardholder you would like to update from the drop-down menu.
  2. Select Y from the drop-down box in the Card Block field.
  3. Click Update.

 

Note: Performing the Card Block function sends a “kill” message to the chip on the card. Once this is done, the card cannot be used as a chip card again. Magnetic stripe transactions will still work unless the card also has an external status.


Edit OfflineTransaction Limits

To edit offline transaction limits:

  1. Select the cardholder you would like to update from the drop-down menu.
  2. Type the new count or amount in the offline limit field.
  3. Click Update.

 

Edit Security Code for Offline Transaction Limits

To edit security code for offline transaction limits: 

  1. Select the cardholder you would like to update from the drop-down menu.
  2. Type the new count or amount in the offline limit field.
  3. Choose the appropriate code from the drop-down box next to the offline limit being edited.

 

Note: Both the offline transaction limit and the corresponding security code must be updated at the same time. The security code cannot be updated alone.

 

  1. Click Update.
